The word ‘feeling’ can evoke many feelings, right? We perceive the world through our senses – and thus, sensory expression is fundamental to not just our language, but also our behaviours.
Indeed, when we ask someone “How are you?”, their brain is searching through their emotional vocabulary for an answer – so, why not add the word ‘feeling’ to this every day, almost subconscious question that we ask others?
So here’s a hack into our emotional self-expression: Today, ask at least 5 people “How are you feeling today?” instead of just “How are you?”. And oh yes, ask yourself the same question first, and see what your response is.
These 5 (or more) folks could be anyone – your kids, parents, your milkman, your postman, just about anyone.
Go on, try it out, and let your emotional vocabulary expand a little – trust us, it’s good for your soul !
